Obituary For Chuck Duvall-Lientz
Chuck, the most amazing chicken who ever lived, wandered into our lives in August of 2020. She was the universe’s answer when my husband insisted we weren’t ready to get chickens, as she showed up only a few weeks later. She rounded the corner to our property on that fateful morning, and into our hearts, and hasn’t left since. She catapulted us into a journey that has been full of fun, love, and new experiences. Chuck was always the first to greet me in the mornings when I would go out to visit our feathered ladies. She loved to cluck at me and stay by my side as I did the morning farm chores. She loved getting vegetable treats and mealworms, and enjoyed being hugged and carried around by her mom, dad, and human siblings. She spent her days perfecting her dust bath and laying the best eggs. She liked to surprise her mom and dad by randomly popping up by an open window while they worked (with the other parent helping her to wave hello with her foot). She did an incredible impression of a perturbed old lady, as well as a very good “running lady in bloomers” impersonation. She is survived by her human mom and dad, human brother and sister, 18 chicken sisters, and 6 jerk rooster brothers. She will be missed deeply, and will always have a place in our hearts. We will never forget you, Chuck, and the joy you brought to our lives. |
