My heart is heavy.

When I come home and walk through the door, the silence of your absent bark echoes throughout my home and leaves deep cuts.

When I try to eat, I think of you. I miss you barking, making sure I didn’t forget to share — even if it was just a tiny piece or two. You were always so happy with it.

I keep my legs tucked to my chest to make sure you have enough space to sleep. But when I sleep, I shiver. Your place in my bed is cold.

I love you dearly. You leave a huge void in my heart.

I will forever cherish all the beautiful memories — the funny and the sad moments we shared. You were the light of my life. Like my child, I cared for you. But the unconditional love you gave me all these years was endless.
