Jewels, our sweet but feisty little lady, passed away peacefully at the age of 12. She came into our lives as a Christmas gift for Aaliyah when she was 7, and from the very first day, she made herself at home on Aaliyah’s back, on our beds, and occasionally on top of Aaliyah’s homework.

A fiercely protective and selective little soul, Jewels always knew who her people were and guarded our hearts with gentle vigilance. She never hurt a fly, but she made it very clear that she ran the household especially when it came to bedtime, where she claimed the center of the bed and forced Aaliyah to the edges.

Jewels had a wonderfully silly side: she loved playing fetch with her toys, snacking on cheese and turkey, and bringing softness into our home, literally fur everywhere. She was the first cat who never ran away, who stayed by our side through the years, growing up alongside Aaliyah and becoming a steadfast friend and companion.

Her spirit, humor, and love will forever remain in our hearts. Jewels may have been small, but the joy, comfort, and memories she left behind are immeasurable. We will miss her forever, but we are so grateful for every purr and playful moment she gave us.

Rest peacefully, sweet Jewels. You were loved beyond measure.
