Obituary For Paisley
Paisley Lane Richards
11/7/2007 - 1/2/2025
I brought Paisley home Wednesday, January 16, 2008. She was my wild child, a feisty 1.9 pound ball of energy. She was so tiny she fit in my shoes but her presence was huge. I knew immediately she would give me a run for my money- literally. Paisley very quickly became the boss of our home. Food, going out to potty, and being held were provided as she wished and at her command. Whenever I emphatically asked, “Paisley what do you want?!”, her aunt Tristan always joked, “everything!”. She shouldn’t have lived to see 17. Too many times to count, she defied death—bolting into the streets while I frantically dodged cars to save her. By the grace of God, I was able to save her from herself time and time again.
Paisley was loving, affectionate, spontaneous, and loyal- always glued to her mama’s side. She demanded to be seen and heard, never did anything she didn’t want to do, and always spoke her mind. Paisley loved swimming, sweet potatoes, her big brother Parker, and most of all people, especially her mama. You couldn’t convince Paisley that she was not a human child. She snubbed her nose at other dogs and wouldn’t dare play with them. She’ll be missed for her bedtime snuggles, ferocious face licks (she was not a black dog), and the way she kept us laughing and on our toes.
She brought so much joy and fun into our lives and we will cherish every memory. Paisley is preceded in death by her big brother Parker who was her best friend and sidekick. He was the only dog she ever truly related to. She leaves behind her mama and feline brother Pax.
She leaves a hole in my heart as big as her personality. Paisley Lane I was so proud to be your mom and you will always be my baby. You are loved so much and will be missed tremendously. For the last time, “Paisley, you’re just a baby”. Rest well, baby girl.
I would like to say a special thank you to Dr. Barfield and the entire Willow Brook Animal Hospital staff for caring for her so lovingly and compassionately to the end and to Peaceful Pets for giving her a peaceful and dignified home going. Also, a big thank you to the family and friends who have loved and supported us through our 17- year journey.
In honor of Paisley, give your fur (and human) babies a little extra loving today.
